Roberta Geier, Therapeutic Massage
No More Pain

About the Practitioner

Hello!  I am Roberta Geier M.Ed., NCBTMB, CNMT.  Those letters behind my name mean I have a Masters Degree in Educational Administration, and that I am a nationally certified massage therapist and certified as a neuromuscular therapist where I had the privilege to study with Paul St. John.  I am also certified in Myofascial Release, Myoskeletal Alignment, Repetitive Use Injury Therapy, Ashiatsu "the most luxurious massage on the planet", and Healing Touch.  I have also studied sports and orthopedic massage.  I have over 26 years experience in bodywork and 16 years in massage therapy.  I have over 1300 hours of instruction and have worked with hundreds of clients over the years.  I have worked with chiropractors and physical therapists and have had my own private practice for 10 years.

I offer advanced work in pain and stress release. After an initial health history and postural assessment I strive to identify the cause(s) of pain/discomfort.  I take into consideration personal goals, life style, previous injuries, and surgeries. Then I integrate several modalities, when appropriate, throughout a session to meet the individual needs of each client.

I work with pain/discomfort in the back (including sciatica), neck (including whiplash), shoulders, arms, hip, knees, legs, hands and feet.  I also work with those who have been diagnosed with carpel tunnel, headaches, migranes, fibromyalgia, and those in post surgical rehabilitation (including joint repair and replacement).  These are the most common problems I encounter and I always love a challenge!

I enjoy working with people of all ages, athletes, weekend warriors, those who wish to maintain their active lifestyle as we grow "younger", and those who are facing health issues.

Philosophy:

I listen carefully with my ear, eyes, hands and heart to create a massage session that seeks to identify the cause of discomfort.  It is an honor to work with my clients, to establish trust, and to offer them relief from pain and stress. I also offer tools that they can use to further their own healing.  Each session is a time of healing; physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Why I do what I do:

I gained so much benefit from massage therapy during  my own previous back and neck issues that I acquired an insatiable appetite for learning about bodywork.  After careers in education and travel I started my massage business as an early retirement job but it has grown to be a full time, thriving career and I finally found my true purpose.  I continue to take classes and improve my skills.  I enjoy seeing the lives of my clients come to their full potential. I love what I do!

Hobbies, etc.:

I enjoy our three grandchildren and introducing them to our favorite pasttimes; hiking, biking, riding the river, and appreciating the wonders of the beautiful outdoor world. And it is a wonderful world!
